Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 20, 1995.
The arms are identical to the arms of the dicese and Principality of Halberstadt. When the arms first were used is not known. The arms formed part of the Prussian Grand Royal Arms. The arms may be canting (half-shield for half-city).
