Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 2, 1958.

The two eagles in the upper half are taken from the arms of the Counts of Leiningen. The chevrons in the lower half are derived from the arms of the Lords of Hanau-Lichtenberg. Until the end of the 18th century both dynasties ruled the area of the municipality.
