Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 4, 1995.
The arms show a fountain, symbol of the abundance of water in the municipality. The fountain is based on a local 18th century fountain, which receives its water from the distant Penedo mountains.
The bordure shows oranges, symbol for the local agriulture.
The previous arms were granted on July 20, 1955 and only differ in the crown.
