Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on June 18, 1962.

The arms are a combination of the arms of the two main landowners in the district, the monasteries of Bamberg and Ebrach. The lion is taken from the arms of Bamberg, the (canting) swine from the arms of Ebrach.
