Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 6, 1996, August 1, 2000 and March 5, 2002.
The arms were first granted when the parish was still part of Loures. In 2000 it was part of Odivelas and thus the name changed. In 2003 only the crown was changed. The main shield remained the same all the time.
The green field and the wavy bar refer to the rich agricultural fields and rivers in the parish. The cow refers to the cattle farming and the wind mill blades to the (former) many windmills in the area.
