Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 2nd, 1953.
The upper part shows the imperial eagle, as a symbol for the former imperial city of Friedberg as well as the former imperial castle in the county. The lower part without the wavy fess is the arms of the Münzenberg family, who lived on the large castle of the same name in the county. The fess is the Wetter river.
