Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 24, 1994.
The tower in the arms represents the Matriz de Loures hurch, a national monument. The mountains and the river refer to the Montemor mountains and the valley of Loures. The windmill blades refer to the many windmills in the parish . The two lettuces symbolise the importance of agriculture for the municipality, which supplies the Lisbon markets.
