Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 10, 1986.
The arms are a combination of a canting rooster (Haan) in the upper right corner. The porpoise is derived from the arms of Wenduine, whereas the point shows the former arms of Vlissegem. The cross also appeared in the arms of Klemskerke.
