Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on February 27, 2003.

The oldest known use of the arms dates from a paper seal dating from 1596. The seal already showed the above combination of a tower flanked by two branches. The exact type of the branches was not very clear until the early 18^th century, when they were clearly shown as acorn branches. The arms have remained unchanged since.
