Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on June 9, 1980.
The arms are canting, guará is a reddish wolf (Chryocyon brachiurus) frequently found in the region. The fig leaves come from the arms of the Figueiredo family, first owners of the lands on which the city now stands. The stars are a symbol for the bright future.
The shield is flanked by coffee and cotton, the main crops in the region.
The motto means 'Where shall I not climb ?'.
