ARANDU

State : São Paulo

Arandu.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 10, 1983.

Arandu is situated on the banks of the lake created by the Jurimirim dam. The boat symbolises fishing, transport and sailing of the Paranapanema river. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Mary, patron saint of the city, and the cross the symbol of the first chapel in the area.

The shield is surrounded by coffee branches, the main agricultural crop in the area.
