Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 13, 1991.
The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Mary, the local patron saint. The rose and the green colour symbolise hope, the chevron symbolises the elevated hopes of the people. The river symbolises the Paranapanema river that runs through the city.
The shield is flanked by sugar cane and corn, the main crops in the region.
