BOA ESPERANÇA DO SUL

State : São Paulo

Boaesper.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 15, 1980.

The arms are partly canting, with the green colour standing for hope (esperança). The roses symbolise the beautiful landscape. The wavy bar symbolises the Boa Esperança river, from which the name of the city was taken. The arrows are the symbol of St. Sebastian, patron saint of the city.

The shield is surrounded by sugar cane and orange branches, the main agricultural crops in the area.
