Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1906.

The red cross is the arms of the State of Konstanz, as until 1803 Hohentengen belonged to the State of Konstanz.
The meaning of the oak branch is not clear.

The first seal of the village dates from the early 19th century and shows a church or chapel. The second seal from the late 19th century already shows the above combination of cross and oak branch.
