Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 12, 1991.

In the municipality there are a number of smaller streams originating from the Schafflunder Au. This has caused the need of building a large number of bridges in the area. The largest was built in 1769 on the orders of King Christian VII of Denmark (the area was then Danish). The main figure represents this bridge, the waves the eight main bridges in the municipality. The three stars represent the three villages, Spölbek, Bärenshöft and Hörup in the municipality. The colour symbolises the water.
