Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 6, 1819 and confirmed on March 23, 1839.
The arms show St. Willibrord, the patron saint of the village. The local council used a seal since the 14th century, with either the patron saint and/or the arms of the different Lords of Olmen. As in 1819 the council did not specify colours for the arms, the (Dutch) College of Arms granted the arms in the Dutch national colours. After the independence of Belgium the arms were confirmed in these colours.
