Official blazon

In Schwarz eine eingeschweifte rote Spitze, darin eine wachsende goldene Ähre; vorne ein goldener Krug, hinten ein goldenes Töpferrad.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1948.

The upper part of the arms shows two symbols for the pottery industry in the town, which was first mentioned in Roman times and played a major role in the local economy until the 19th century. The lower half symbolises agriculture.
