Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1927 and confirmed in 1981.

The arms are based on a seal known from 1598, and show in the upper part the lion of Berg, as the are belonged historically to the County Berg. The lower part probably symbolises the nature and fisheries. Most places in the County Berg used a local symbol to distinguish the arms.
