Official blazon

Polcený štít. V pravém červeném poli černé písmeno A nad obrácenou kotvou převýšenou korunou, obojí zlaté. Levé pole dělené, nahoře ve stříbrném poli nad zeleným trojvrším kosmý mlátek šikmo přeložený želízkem, obojí přirozené barvy, dolní pole sedmkrát červeno-stříbrně kosmo dělené.

Origin/meaning

The city was founded in the 16th century in a mining area. The arms were granted on February 16, 1595 by Emperor Rudolf II. The letter A in the arms is from the name of the first owner, Adam Ungned. The crossed hammers symbolize the ore mining around the city.
