DIRCE REIS
State: São Paulo
Portuguese | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 28, 1994.
The red cinquefoil mean 'dear daughter' and refers to miss Dirce, daughter of the founder of the village. The fleur-de-lis are the symbol of St. Mary, patron saint of the city. The wavy bar symbolises the São José dos Dourados river that runs through the city. The three crowns symbolise the Three Kings, as the village was founded on January 6.
The shield is flanked by coffee and cotton, the main crops in the region.
