HASSLOCH

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Bad Dürkheim (until 1969 Neustadt an der Weinstrasse)

Hassloch.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1926 and officially granted on April 2, 1938.

The upper half shows the lion of the Pfalz and the three eagles of the Counts of Leiningen. Historically the Counts of Leiningen ruled the area as vassals for the Counts (later Princes) of the Pfalz.
The lower half shows a S-like symbol, which has been used as a village sign on borderstones and decorations since the 18th century.
