LAVRINHAS

State : São Paulo

Lavrinha.jpg

Origin/meaning :

The arms were granted on July 19, 1976.

The red field and the swords symbolise the bloodshed in the area during the 1932 war. The mountains represent the Mantiqueira range; the arrows are the symbol of St. Sebastian, the local patron saint.

The shield is flanked by two soldiers, again a symbol of the war. The motto 'Cave nam Vigilio' means 'Beware I am vigilant'.
