Armoiries de Ophain-Bois-Seigneur-Isaac

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 21, 1923. The arms are based on the 17th and 18th century seals of the village that showed already the same composition. The first and fourth quarter show three canting hammers for the Mailly family (hammer=maillet), Lords of Ophain. The other quarters symbolise Bois-Seigneur-Isaac and show the arms of the Sainte Aldegon de Noircarme abbey, which owned the local castle in the 17th century.
