PARSBERG (PAR)

State : Bayern
Incorporated into : 1973 Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz

Parsberg.kreis.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on April 22, 1963.

The arms show in the right half the golden lion of the Pfalz, as parts of the district were parts of the Pfalz since the 13th century. The silver lion with the breast-shield is taken from the arms of Johann Count of Tilly who in the 17th century acquired several estates in the district. The wavy pale is the Laaber river.
