Origin/meaning
The arms are known from the oldest seal, which dates from 1661. Later seals showed the arms with the Prussian eagle as a supporter.
The arms show St. Lawrence, patron saint of the village.
Older images showed the figure as a fisherman, as the town is on the border of a lake. It has also been stated that the figure is Neptune, again as a symbol for the fisheries.
