STRZELCE OPOLSKIE

Province: Opole
County: Strzelce

Arms of Strzelce Opolskie

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms of the town (German name Gross-Strehlitz) show the eagle of Upper Silezia and a grape vine.

The oldest known seals of the city, the oldest from 1362, until the 16th century already show the eagle and a branch. The type of branch is not clear, but there are no grapes and the shape of the leaves is different. The vine only appeared on the seals in the 16th century.

The composition has not changed since, but the colours and the size and shape of the grape tree have varied widely.
