Official blazon
Een ovaal schild: in keel drie aanziende leeuwenkoppen van goud, getongd van lazuur. Het schild getopt met een kroon met negen parels en gehouden door twee klimmende en aanziende leeuwen van goud. Het schild geplaatst vóór een staande heilige Bavo, met nimbus en in wapenrusting bedekt met een lange prinsenmantel, houdende in de rechterhand een zwaard en op de linkervuist een valk, alles van goud.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 21, 1967.
The arms are those of the County of Carnin en Staden, to which the whole area historically belonged. The arms are those of the Carnin family from the early 18th century. In 1712 the county was established.
The supporter is Saint Bavo, the local patron saint.
