Zeutern was first mentioned in 1281 as a village with its own local court. The village did, however, not use a seal until the early 18th century. The seal shows the patron saint St. Martin on a horse with a church in the background and a letter Z in the foreground. The letter obviously signifies the name of the village. In the next seals the saint remained the main figure. In 1952 the seal has been transformed into the arms, which in the present form were officially granted in 1960.
