Origin/meaning
The badge is base on the arms of the Namegiver Adriaan Banckert (c. 1620-1684). This Admiral of the Zeeland Admirality distingusihed himself in a series of Sea Battles and Expeditions between 1654 to 1674. The Bage was approved on 23 April 1953. The Name was used by a Destroyer in Service 1945-1956 and a Frigate in service 1980-1993 (Sold to Greece where she still serve as Aigaion).
