Badge: Argent four Marconi communication towers Sable issuant from a base per fess crested Or and Azure.
Motto: COMMUNICATIONES CUM PERSEVERANTIA.

Origin/meaning

The design evokes the rich history of communications in Glace Bay, especially the role that the community played in trans-Atlantic communications. It honours the work of Guglielmo Marconi (1874-1937) who, in December 1902, transmitted the first complete wireless messages to Poldhu, Cornwall, from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. The Motto translates as “Communications with persistence”. The Badge was approved on February 20, 2009.
