History: Organized as 95 Aero Squadron on 20 Aug 1917. Demobilized on 18 Mar 1919. Organized on 12 Aug 1919. Redesignated as: 95 Squadron Pursuit) on 14 Mar 1921; 95 Pursuit Squadron on 30 Sep 1922; 95 Pursuit Squadron, Air Service, on 25 Jan 1923; 95 Pursuit Squadron, Air Corps, on 8 Aug 1926. Inactivated on 31 Jul 1927. Redesignated as 95 Pursuit Squadron, and activated, on 1 Jun 1928. Redesignated as: 95 Attack Squadron on 1 Mar 1935; 95 Bombardment Squadron (Medium) on 17 Oct 1939; 95 Bombardment Squadron, Medium, on 9 Oct 1944. Inactivated on 26 Nov 1945. Redesignated as 95 Bombardment Squadron, Light, on 29 Apr 1947. Activated on 19 May 1947. Inactivated on 10 Sep 1948. Redesignated as 95 Bombardment Squadron, Light, Night Intruder, on 8 May 1952. Activated on 10 May 1952. Redesignated as 95 Bombardment Squadron, Tactical, on 1 Oct 1955. Inactivated on 25 Jun 1958. Redesignated as 95 Reconnaissance Squadron on 20 Jan 1982. Activated on 1 Oct 1982. Inactivated on 15 Sep 1993. Activated on 1 Jul 1994.

Combat as pursuit unit with French Sixth Army, French Eighth Army, and First Army, AEF, 8–c. 24 Mar, c. 28 Apr–10 Nov 1918. Antisubmarine patrols, c. 20 Dec 1941–c. Mar 1942. Contributed aircrews and aircraft for the 18 Apr 1942 Doolittle raid on Japan. Combat in Mediterranean Theater of Operations (MTO) and European Theater of Operations (ETO), 30 Dec 1942–1 May 1945. German disarmament, Jun–Sep 1945. Not operational, 1947–1948. Combat in Korea, c. 10 May 1952–27 Jul 1953. Reconnaissance in support of combat operations in Southwest Asia, Jan 1991. Provided day and night, all-weather surveillance during peace, crisis, and war situations, 1983-1993. Acted as support infrastructure to 55 Operations Group aircrews and aircraft deploying from the US, 1994-.
