Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, despicat. În partea dreaptă, în câmp albastru, se află bustul unui bărbat, întors un sfert spre stânga, cu barbă și mustață, tuns scurt, purtând o cămașă cu guler înalt îngust și veston, totul de argint, asuprind o cruce cu brațe egale și chenar marginal, asemenea. În partea stângă, în câmp roșu, se află un tei dezrădăcinat, de aur. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 9, 2020.

The bust represents Gheorghe Pop de Băsești, promoter of the Great Union, the patronymic generating the toponym of the commune on whose territory the Pop de Băsești family was located, ennobled for centuries.

The cross represents the places of worship, monuments and pilgrimages in the commune, as well as the important priestly ancestry of Gheorghe Pop de Băsești and his connection with the church in the accomplishment of the Union.

The lime tree, called "Teiul Unirii", a tree-monument in the commune, symbolizes the historical importance of the events prepared by the memorandums, led by Gheorghe Pop de Băsești, on these lands.

The mural crown with a crenellated silver tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
