English Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a Maroon rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom, the coat of arms of the city of Baumholder, Germany blazoned: Shield: Argent on a mount Vert , an elderberry tree of the like stemmed Sable between two flowers of the tree Argent seed Or fimbriated of the third and stemmed of the like. Crest: A castle triple towered Vert. Attached above the device, a Yellow arched scroll inscribed “BAUMHOLDER” in Maroon letters. Attached below the device, a Yellow arching scroll inscribed “BUCCANEERS” in Maroon letters all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Maroon border. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Origin/meaning

Maroon and gold are the colors of the school. The coat of arms of the city of Baumholder reflects the unit’s location and civic pride of the cadets. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 4 March 1993.
