Crest: A sheaf of arrows charged with a lily argent.

Motto: Victory is from God.
Origin/meaning
The inhabitants of Bhopal are predominantly hindu, the 'begum' (princess) however is muslim. Her motto therefore implores therefore the 'victory of Allah' (nasr minullah). The fish are called 'Masheer', an anglicised version of a common Indian fish.
The twelve musk blossoms represent the twelve Imams which the Nawab, as a Shia venerates. These are not to be confused with the four Imams of the Prophet. The Shias count twelve Imams, the last of whom, Muhammad al Mehdi (A.D. 873), they suppose to be still living, ready to appear and unite the two sects of Islam.
