  • (1930s) Per fess gules and sable, a triangular triple tower castle or. Shield divided horizontally red and black, with a golden castle.

Origin/meaning

The arms above were officially granted to Exeter in the 1930s. They are based on the arms of the city of Exeter in England, with a horizontal instead of a vertical division.

The town later, however, adopted the exact arms of Exeter as arms, as shown in the current image below:
