HMS QUICKMATCH, ROYAL NAVY
English | Barry wavy of six white and blue; a trident and a blacksmith's hammer in saltire black interlaced with a horseshoe reversed red. |
Origin/meaning
A candlestick taper used to ignite fires and fire guns, with a pun on the balcksmith's Forge at Gretna for a "quick match". The badge was approved in 1942.
