Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 18, 2006.
Ischia is actually an island off the coast of Naples. The arms show simply a mountain, symbolising the island, and a crown.
In 1996 the arms below were show, which depict realistically the small island which is next to the Ischian main island. The islands are actually connected by a bridge. The small island has a medieval castle on it, as shown on the arms.
