Origin/meaning

The stag is a reference to Saint-Hubert, a property in western France that is dear to the armiger's family and where they congregate frequently. Being or and argent, is a Christian symbol for the deep faith the family share while the banner references an Agnus Dei. Vert and leaves evoke nature and, along with the ermines, are a reference to western France. The fur is also a symbol of the armiger's grandfather's job as a fabric merchant. The embattled line is serves as a specific religious symbol which is important to the armiger's family. The arms are subtly canting for "Retailleau", as "per bend sinister" is "taillé" in French.
