Un scut despicat. În dreapta, pe fond roșu, Sfânta Varvara - reprezentată bust -, încoronată și aureolată cu aur, ținând în mâna dreaptă o cruce din același metal și o ramură verde, iar în mâna stângă, un potir, de asemenea, de aur. În partea din stânga, pe fond de azur, un scut roman ce se suprapune peste o lance încrucișată cu hampa, care susțin steagul dac, toate de argint. În șef, pe fond de aur, două ciocane de miner, de culoare neagră, încrucișate și multiplicate. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint, formată din trei turnuri crenelate.

The arms were officially granted on September 30, 1998.

Saint Barbara shown in the lower half is the patron saint of the miners; the Roman shield and the Dacian flag prove the long history of the settlement; the crossed hammers, a symbol of mining, attest to the fact that coal mining is the economic activity that determined the progress of the settlement.
