Un scut triunghiular albastru cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat de un brâu undat de argint. În partea superioară se află două fulgere de aur, poziționate în bandă și, respectiv, în bară. În partea inferioară se află un romb negru, cu filieră subțire de argint. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu trei turnuri crenelate.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 11, 2013.

The wavy bart refers to the hydrography of the area and the Jiu River.

The lightning symbolizes the Rovinari thermal power plant, alluding to the production of electricity.

The black diamond represents the local mining industry.

The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
