Country : Austria
State : Salzburg
District : Salzburg
The arms were officially granted on November 14, 1931, but date from medieval times.
The arms are based on the medieval seal of the city, which showed a very typical design of the time; a city wall with three (church) towers.
In many armorials from the 15th-17th century the arms of the State of Salzburg are shown for the city. When this is the case the arms are shown here.
The arms in a 16th century manuscript
The arms in the Wappen-Sammlung (+/- 1910)
The arms in the Continentale Verlags-Anstalt album, +/- 1910
The arms in the Abadie albums
