Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a blue circular embroidered device 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, the head of a bald eagle proper encompassed by a yellow designation band inscribed “SARASOTA MILITARY” above the eagle’s head in white letters, and inscribed” ACADEMY” below the eagle’s head in white letters.

Origin/meaning

Blue and yellow are the school colors. The bald eagle is the school’s mascot and symbolizes dignity, bravery, and wisdom. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 25 May 2006.
