Origin/meaning
The village historically belonged to the State of Geneva and the Duchy of Savoy, which is symbolised by the blue and gold for Geneva and the silver cross in red for Savoy. The lion is taken from the arms of the local castle, and the bear refers to a famous bear fight in 1818 between four bears in the village.
