Origin/meaning

The arms are a combination of the two former arms.

The arms were based on the winning proposal of a referendum, in which three proposals could be chosen:

  1. the two former arms placed in a vertically divided shield
  2. A shield divided by a bar dancetty to symbolise the alps, with a star in each half for the two villages
  3. A shield with two agricultural tools, a sun and a mountain in base.

The winning proposal was then changed in a horizontally divided shield for more aesthetic reasons.
