The meaning or origin of the figure in the arms is not quite clear. In the original description the figure is described as a siren. There is no explanation. The village became a town in 1438, but from the century between this date and the granting of the arms, there are no seals or images of arms known. The town was a part of the State of [[Freising]], which used completely different arms. Ever since 1548 the arms have been used, although the clothing of the siren has sometimes changed (or was removed at all).
