Official blazon

Shield: Per bend Teal and Azure (Dark blue), a bend Tenné edged Argent between in chief a wagon wheel and in base a fleur-de-lis of the fourth; on a chief of the last a silhouette of a horse and rider Sable.
Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Missouri Army National Guard: From a wreath Argent and Teal, a grizzly bear rampant Proper.
Motto: Lightning Riders.

Distinctive Unit Insignia Description: A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 5/32 inches (2.94 cm) in length over all consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Per bend Teal and Azure (Dark Blue), a bned Tenné between in chief a wagon wheel and in base a fleur-de-lis Argetn, on a chief of the alst a silhouette of a horse and rider Sable. Attached below a Teal scroll inscribed "LIGHTNING RIDERS" in Silver.

Origin/meaning

Teal is the color traditionally associated with Branch Immaterial. The bend denotes Defence. Orange symbolises the Signal Capabilities. Blue represent the Infantry Branch affiliation. The Wheel symbolises support given to the 35th Infantry Division. The Felur-de-lis alludes to the French settlement at St Joseph, Missouri where the Battalion's HQ is located. The Pony Express Rider alludes to the Signal responisbilities to provide essentional communications.

The coat of Arms and Distinctive UNit Insignia, was both approved on 28 September 2007.
