Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat și despicat în partea superioară. În partea dreaptă, în câmp albastru, se află un monument de argint având un vultur cu zborul deschis (aripile deschise), amplasat pe un soclu format din trei blocuri paralelipipedice, descrescătoare ca dimensiuni și terminat cu două trepte la bază. În partea stângă, în câmp roșu, se află un taler de argint. În vârful scutului, în câmp de argint, se află un brâu undat albastru. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu trei turnuri crenelate.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 27, 2016.
The eagle represents the Monument of Heroes and signifies the massacre of December 5, 1918.
The scales alludes to the name of the locality, Târgu (market).
The wavy bar represents the Lăpuș river, which crosses the locality, whence its name.
The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
