Origin : Isocrates (436-338 B.C.), giving advice to Demonicus who perhaps was the son of his friend Ipponikos, tyrant of Kitieon of Rhodes, around the year of 394 B.C., states: Fear the gods, honour your parents, respect your friends, obey the laws.
