Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on November 19, 1943.

The arms show the patron saint, St. Martin,of the local church, which is known since the 10^th century. The colours are taken from the arms of the Lordship of Waldenburg, to which the municipality belonged between 1200 and 1400.
