Distinctive Unit Insignia. Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a silver castle with two embattled towers and a yellow portcullis beneath a central cupola, supporting a maroon scroll inscribed "THE BEST SUPPORT" in silver letters.
Origin/meaning
Maroon and white (silver) are the colors used for DENTAC units. The castle has been adapted from the Landstuhl coat of arms and refers to the unit's location. It exemplifies support and defense, basic qualities of dental care.
The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 15 September 1980.
